Primary Use: Reinforcement for Pipe Insulation Composites

The core application of this fiberglass laid scrim (CF12.5×12.5PH and siblings) is as the hidden “S” layer laminated between aluminum foil / PE face and the backing (kraft, PET, fiberglass tissue)​ in pipeline wrapping, HVAC duct insulation facing, and waterproof-insulation overlaps. It is sandwiched into the insulation composite to:

Prevent Tear During Winding, Handling & Burial

Aluminum foil / thin composite facings tear easily when pulled over rigid pipes or cut on-site. The scrim absorbs winding tension and handling stress, arrests tear propagation, and keeps the vapor/waterproof layer continuous — critical for thermal efficiency and corrosion control on buried or exposed piping.

Improve Throughput on Wrapping / Laminating Lines

With roll length up to 50,000 m (regular 10,000 m/roll), the scrim feeds continuous wrapping and foil laminating lines with fewer splice stops — higher yield per shift, more consistent batch appearance on finished insulation rolls.

Maintain Dimensional Stability in Service

The scrim’s low elongation keeps the facing from cupping, wrinkling, or pulling fixings loose as the insulated pipe heats/cools or sits in damp soil — preserving lap-seal integrity on spiral-wrapped pipelines and duct sections.
