Non-woven laid scrims laminated for Kiteboards for reinforcement solutions

Non-woven laid scrims Brief Introduction

A laid scrim for kiteboard composites, part of the Sports category alongside sail laminates, table tennis rackets, and ski/snowboard sandwich technology. It acts as a hidden tensile grid laminated into or between the skin layers and core of the kiteboard sandwich. Made by chemically bonding continuous filament yarns into a flat-laid open mesh (square or tri-directional), with binder options (PVOH, PVC, Acrylic, or customized) to suit skin laminating and sandwich-press processes. The chemically bonded construction delivers lightweight, high strength, low shrinkage/elongation, and corrosion resistance, allowing the board to handle flex, impact, and UV/wet exposure without adding unnecessary weight.

Non-woven laid scrims Application

Primary Use: Reinforcement for Kiteboard Sandwich Composites

The core application of this kiteboard-grade laid scrim is as the hidden tensile grid laminated into the skin stack of kiteboards — and by extension the same Sports platform also serves sail laminates, table tennis rackets, and the sandwich technology of skis and snowboards. It is sandwiched into the board build to:

Resist Flex Fatigue & Impact Tearing

Kiteboards see aggressive flex, chop landings, and rail/bash impacts. The scrim’s multi-directional tensile reinforces the skin–core interface so delamination doesn’t start at heel dents, rail dings, or insert stresses — extending board life under pro-level abuse.

Keep Swing Weight Low

The scrim adds meaningful tensile reinforcement at very low GSM, keeping the total board weight down — directly protecting pop, swing feel, and air-time, which are the defining metrics of kiteboard design.

Enable High-Efficiency Laminating Across the Sports Category

50,000 m roll length feeds high-speed laminating and sandwich lines with fewer splice stops — higher yield per shift, more consistent batch appearance across kiteboard, ski/snowboard, and racket programs.

Due to lightweight, high strength, low shrinkage/elongation, corrosion preventive, laid scrims offers tremendous value compared to conventional material concepts. And it’s easily to laminate with many kinds of materials, this makes it has an extensive fields of applications.
