Non-woven laid scrims Application

Primary Use: Reinforcement for Single Parachute Composites

The core application of this parachute-grade laid scrim is as the hidden tensile grid laminated into single parachute canopy fabrics, shroud line attachment patches, and steering/orifice reinforcement zones. It is laminated into the host fabric stack to:

Withstand Deployment Impact & In-Flight Loads

Canopy deployment generates instant peak loads of several kN; the scrim’s multi-directional tensile and tear resistance arrests crack initiation at seam crossings, attachment points, and fabric nicks, while low elongation prevents permanent canopy distortion that would affect flight stability and maneuverability.

Reduce Added Weight for Better Maneuverability

The scrim adds meaningful tensile reinforcement at very low GSM, keeping the total parachute system weight down — critical for single parachutes where pilot control and descent rate depend on minimal excess mass.

Improve Throughput on Parachute Lines

50,000 m roll length feeds high-speed laminating and coating lines with fewer splice stops — higher yield per shift, fewer splice-related defects on finished canopy rolls.
