Non-woven laid scrims laminated for snowboards for reinforcement solutions

Non-woven laid scrims Brief Introduction

A laid scrim engineered for lamination into snowboard composites, this product sits within the site’s Sports category alongside sail laminates, table tennis rackets, and kiteboard sandwich builds. It functions as the hidden tensile grid laminated into or between the skin layers (foil / non-woven / composite fabric) and the core of the ski/snowboard sandwich. Manufactured by chemically bonding continuous filament yarns into a flat-laid open mesh (square or tri-directional), with binder options (PVOH, PVC, Acrylic, or customized) to match skin laminating and sandwich-press processes. The chemically bonded construction yields lightweight, high strength, low shrinkage/low elongation, and corrosion resistance, enabling the board to endure constant flex, hard pack landings, and freeze–thaw/UV cycles without adding unnecessary weight to the ride.

Non-woven laid scrims Application

Primary Use: Reinforcement for Ski/Snowboard Sandwich Composites

Snowboards see aggressive flex, hard-pack chop, rail slides, and cliff drops. The scrim’s multi-directional tensile reinforces the skin–core interface so delamination doesn’t start at heel dents, edge dings, or binding stresses — extending board life under resort and backcountry abuse.

Keep Swing Weight Low

The scrim adds meaningful tensile reinforcement at very low GSM, keeping the total board weight down — directly protecting pop, swing feel in powder, and edge-to-edge response, which are the defining metrics of snowboard design.

Enable High-Efficiency Laminating Across the Sports Category

50,000 m roll length feeds high-speed laminating and sandwich lines with fewer splice stops — higher yield per shift, more consistent batch appearance across ski/snowboard, kiteboard, and racket programs.
