Built for insulation facing reinforcement across HVAC, building envelope, and cold-chain insulation systems, this laid scrim falls under the site’s Building category and acts as a hidden tensile grid laminated between the insulation core and outer facing (aluminum foil, PE film, non-woven felt, etc.). It is produced by chemically bonding continuous filament yarns into a flat-laid open mesh (square or tri-directional), with binder options (PVOH, PVC, acrylic, or customized) to match facing lamination, calendering, and wrapping processes. The chemically bonded construction delivers lightweight, high strength, low shrinkage/elongation, and corrosion resistance, enabling the insulation facing to withstand winding tension, on-site handling, and in-service temperature/humidity cycles without adding bulk that hinders installation.

The regular supply of non-woven reinforcement and laminated scrim is 12.5×12.5mm,10x10mm,6.25×6.25mm, 5x5mm,12.5×6.25mm etc. The regular supply grams are 6.5g, 8g, 13g, 15.5g, etc. With high strength and light weight, it can be fully bonded with almost any material and each roll length can be 10,000 meters.
The core application of this insulation-facing laid scrim is as the hidden tensile grid laminated between the insulation core and outer facing in HVAC duct wrap (foil-scrim-kraft/foil-scrim-non-woven), building envelope insulation facing, cold-chain PU/PIR board facing, and waterproof-insulation integrated membranes. It is laminated into the facing stack to:
Aluminum foil and thin non-woven facings tear easily when wrapped over rigid ducts/pipes or cut on-site. The scrim absorbs winding and handling stress, arrests tear propagation, and keeps the vapor/thermal barrier continuous — critical for HVAC thermal efficiency and condensation control.
The scrim’s low elongation bridges the interface between the insulation core and facing, preventing the facing from cupping, wrinkling, or delaminating when the core expands/contracts under outdoor temperature cycles or freezer thaw-freeze cycles.

Laid scrim can be used as basic materials to produce truck cover, light awning, banner, sail cloth etc.

Due to lightweight, high strength, low shrinkage/elongation, corrosion preventive, laid scrims offers tremendous value compared to conventional material concepts. And it’s easily to laminate with many kinds of materials, this makes it has an extensive fields of applications.
