Polyester Laid Scrims Application

Primary Use: Reinforcement for Auto-Industry Adhesive Tape in Packing & Shipping

The core application of this polyester laid scrim is as the hidden tensile skeleton laminated between adhesive layers or embedded into the carrier of foam tape, rubber & plastic tape, and double-sided scrim tape used on automotive packing lines — interior trim fixation, component bundling, protective edge taping, and transit-secure mounting. It is laminated into the tape stack to:

Control Elongation & Add Tear Resistance During Dispensing

Packing tapes are pulled, stretched, and dispensed at line speed. The scrim dramatically increases the carrier’s resistance to breaking and tearing, ensuring the tape holds through bundling, carton sealing, and pallet securing without stretching out of shape.

Maintain Dimensional Stability Through Transit Vibration

The scrim’s low elongation prevents the tape from creeping when loaded in shear during road/rail transit, so mounted trims, bundles, and edge guards stay in place — reducing packing-line rework and transit claims.

Enable Clean Die-Cutting & Heat-Seal Compatibility

The open mesh allows clean, burr-free die-cutting of mounting tabs and spaced tapes; with PVOH or heat-sealable binders, the scrim is compatible with thermal laminating on tape converting lines — no adhesive oozing or liner wrinkling on high-speed slitting.

Secondary Applications

 a) Aluminum Foil Composite

b) PVC Flooring

c) None-woven category products reinforced

d) PVC Tarpaulin

Laid scrim can be used as basic materials to produce truck cover, light awning, banner, sail cloth etc.
