Primary Use: Reinforcement in High-Performance Sailcloth
It is the core reinforcement fabric laminated within modern cruising and racing sails. Its key role is to carry and distribute the enormous loads generated by wind, allowing the sail to maintain its designed aerodynamic shape with minimal stretch, which is essential for speed, pointing ability, and overall boat performance. It is also used in sail covers, bimini tops, and dodgers.
Waterproof Polyester Laid Scrim (550dtex, PVOH Binder, 4x4mm) is a precision-engineered reinforcement fabric that meets the stringent requirements of modern sailmaking. By utilizing mid-weight 550dtex yarns for optimal strength, an eco-friendly PVOH binder for perfect resin integration, and a balanced 4x4mm mesh for stability, it enables the production of sails that are lighter, stronger, and more responsive, directly contributing to superior sailing performance and longevity.
Laid scrim can be used as basic materials to produce truck cover, light awning, banner, sail cloth etc.
Due to light weight, high strength, low shrinkage/elongation, corrosion preventive, laid scrims offers tremendous value compared to conventional material concepts. And it’s easily to laminate with many kinds of materials, this makes it has an extensive fields of applications.
